Ambean Fletchery
« on: February 02, 2021, 08:49:09 AM »
Character name / organisation name: Christophe var Sardou / Barony of Ambean

Steam of Discord name (or add me, my links are in the topic above): oscar winning roleplayer#1094

Description of building: A fletcher's workshop in Ambean.

Location of building:

The fletchery will be located on the site of one of the ruined houses in the village. The existing structure will be torn down, with any usable wood harvested, and a new building constructed in its place (just a typical enterable wooden house).

Reason for building:

ICly, this is a part of the ongoing process of the recovery of the Airelyn people and the revitalisation of their village.

OOCly, we believe it is fair to have a fletcher workshop built here as the recent influx of newly accepted craftsmen has rendered the existing geographical 'balance' of the workshops obsolete, as well as the existence of several ongoing BRs for other workshops.

What will the building add in terms of role-play, or general fun in-game?:

The Airelyns will have access to their own fletchery and the construction project will contribute to the overall beautification and rejuvenation of the village post-war. It will also bring more business to the village, boosting its prosperity.

My epic diagram lol:

btw that house prop needs to be resized taller on the Z scale as the doorway is rather low by default

Step One: Mr Milivieve, Tear Down This Wall!

With the roads unsafe to travel, and everybody taking shelter in the village, Christophe decided this was as good a time as any to begin the demolition of the ruined building, upon which the new workshop would be built. The local carpenter, Varg, didn't hesitate to offer his help in this endeavour. The duo quickly got to work with their axes, breaking apart the burned remains of a war that, given current events, had never really ended.

Suddenly, one of the guards, Feliu, rushed over to the work site and demanded they stop at once. Feliu made the shocking admission that, despite being a sworn warrior of the Baron with a barracks to call home, he preferred to spend his nights squatting in this very ruin! Christophe and Varg were bewildered by this, and things quickly devolved into a heated argument as the work ground to a halt. While Varg was sympathetic to Feliu's circumstances, Christophe was having none of it, and only antagonised Feliu further to the point where he barricaded himself in the ruin!

Eventually, Feliu began to see reason, having been unaware that a fletcher's workshop was to be built here. All parties agreed on a satisfactory resolution, in which Feliu would have his own new shack constructed so he could spend his evenings in comfort away from the rough living of the barracks. He permitted Varg and Christophe to resume their demolition of the old house, and they wasted no time in getting back to work.

Halfway through the job, they were interrupted by a messenger from Vayejeg, who brought news of Nords pillaging the fisheries. The Ambean locals decided they were too few in number to help, and would defend their own village for now. The messenger himself saw the merit in this, and went off in contemplation of joining the Airelyns one day. In the meantime, Christophe and Varg returned to work, dismantling the support beams and pulling the roof off the house with ropes. They then harvested whatever wood remained in good condition, and piled it at the site for use in future construction.

Calm down, this hasn't been accepted yet.
