Playerlore (Not Canon) / The Sect of Avior
« on: March 08, 2021, 09:27:14 PM »
The sect of Avior is one of the many small sects that revolve around the children of the Divi Filius, although the sect of Avior has reached in the eyes of many, an infamous position. They base their whole life around the martyrdom of Avior Dragon-kin, a famous warlord of the age of heroes. Seen as fanatical radicals by most makerists of the world, they have nonetheless survived through the ages and small pockets of worship exist in both the great cities of the Makerist world and in many smaller lordships spread throughout Rhodokia, Vaegira and Swadia. While in the larger cities, the sect of Avior is very restricted, although not directly outlawed, in many of the more rural areas of Makerist Kingdoms where this sect is prevalent, many local lords claim descent from Avior himself, namely the Viscount Rafarch of Nemeja and Baron Benedict Valant of Valantford.

Legend of Avior

Avior Dragon-kin was a famous proto-calradic chieftain who united many of the tribes and cities of the region which now lays between Suno, Dhirim and Uxkhal into a single realm which would gain fame for his defeat of a Battanian tribe called the “Vengetuni” which, according to the Calradic historian Marrian, worshiped a demonic cult formed by demons that lay beyond the veil.

Of Avior’s origin story there are many - Some say that Avior was the son of Rhudan and Epidaima, the daughter of the previous chieftain of the tribe which he would one day rule. However, the most popular thesis amongst the “Aviorites”, those who follow the sect built upon his legend, is that Avior was instead the son of Rhudan and a Dragon, and that he could breathe fire upon his enemies. The battle over Avior’s legend has been a most constant battle between Aviorites and the broader makerist church - Aviorites insist on Avior’s half draconic nature and his supernatural abilities - while Makerist officials insist that Avior’s legend originated instead from Avior’s famous slaying of a dragon, whose scales he wore as armour.

More of interest to this page, however, is Avior’s later legend, after he had become a warlord in his own right, and preceding his famous war with the Vengetuni. While he lay in his polis, Avior had been famously taken by desperation and madness, until one day, a thunderstorm hailed from the heavens and destroyed the local makerist temple in a inferno of fire, which, no matter the great efforts of the Aviorites, they did not manage to put out. It was then that Avior woke from his stupor - and, facing the fire on his own, saw a vision from the Maker himself in the flames. Ordained by his holy /grandfather/ to fight the demon worshippers into destruction - Avior would reform his people, realm and force into a machine that would eventually defeat the Vengetuni, which in legend, had ten men for each Aviorite.

The battle which would be fought by Avior against his demonic enemies would result in a pyrrhic victory for Avior and his kindred - Avior being wounded mortally in this battle. But before his death, Avior would order his kinsmen to satisfy the wishes of the Maker by purifying the bodies of the dead and the souls of his still living enemies - by burning them all. And so, his son and successor would start the famous Aviorite tradition of burning the bodies of the dead, and the use of death by fire to enact justice upon those defeated.

Tenants of Worship:
-While most makerists focus only on the sun as the Maker’s direct link to earth, Aviorites also recognize fire as a symbol of the Maker. Lords are supposed to keep a “eternal fire” upon their conversion, and must make it keep going for the full lenght of their lives. It is the duty of their successor to put it out, and light one for himself.
-Dedication to the community is a sacred tenant of the cult of Avior. Thus, justice and law are meant to be upheld at all times, and laws are meant to be strict and forthwith. The only way an Aviorite has the right to execute another man is by fire, so that the soul of the sinner is purified.
-Despotism and corruption are both sins in Aviorite culture. Any man must be the best he can be, and all those who fall into sin and/or refuse to better themselves everyday as a Makerist are considered outcasts.
-Both men and women can join the cloth in the rank and file of the Aviorites. Priests are referred to as “Keepers of the Fire” and are respected members of Aviorite societies.
-The symbol of Avior is a fiery heart and Aviorites are required to pray to the Maker at least three times a day - facing fire - it can be a hearth or a simple candle.

If they did this before fine, but they didn't so it shouldnt be happening now.
Ismirala Vaegirs didn't interfere the last few times sizable forces of player characters crossed onto that side of the river.  I believe staff specifically said they weren't going to allow/do EC stuff when player made conflict is happening.
But now its changed without anyone saying anything and it will just cause an amazing amount of drama.

Heres the thing thats confusing.
Exiled Vaegirs are exiles no? Yet they've been on friendly terms with Ismirala ever since they came on map (I.E never been attacked/harassed, correct me if im wrong just never seen it.)
And the Ismirala Vaegirs dont like it when people are on their "land", ok ao why have they let Exiles settle on it?
It wouldve made for good rp between Exile vaegirs and fenada of exile vaegirs were harrased by EC vaegirs, fenada comes and help, etc etc, like when the first Vayejeg FL attacked the Vaegirs.

Yet we've seen nothing from the Vaegir ECs doing anything to "protect their land" until last night. (Btw which was made worse with the random spawning of Nord raider bots which.. why)
Also aren't the Nordic kingdom and Vaegir Kingdom at peace with no conflict?

Tl:dr - You didn't do it before, dont do it now.
Keep things fair and equal for everyone.
Its not one rule for one person and a different rule for another person.
sir this is a mcdonalds drivethru

I’m happy to see a swift response :D
However I’d still suggest making complaints public, some of them are still unanswered and having them private creates a sluggish professionality when dealing with serious situations.

You as an FL, alongside myself and all the other FLs on the map were invited to the staff meeting where a lot of these issues that have been pointed out have been or are in the process of being addressed. That is where shit is most likely to change, though an open post where everyone's thoughts can be heard is good for gathering things that can be brought up.
I'm not sure if this was directed at me but I only heard about said staff meeting after it was concluded and the contents of the meeting were mostly bickering and arguing instead of actually putting ends to problems not to mention I've seen absolutely nothing so far being planned or done. I wish to work together, but we gotta do more than talk the talk and that's on the hands of the staff team's green light, which has been shunned forever.

Archive / Dying Scenario: A guide
« on: March 01, 2021, 06:06:03 PM »
Hi, as many of you might be aware, the server's population is declining fast, while it still manages to get a good amount of players during peak hours, many of people I play with and myself think the scene is becoming boring and mismanaged.
Before I start pointing out issues in a warband politician persona, I'd like to point out that although the server has serious problems, it has a few advantages as well; We've had the largest playerbase since like CRP 3, very good scripts (although prone to bugs) and a decent map.

However, despite all these advantages, here we are, so I'd list what I think bothers me and fellow other players on the server.

To start off, one big killer to the server is the management of the events, the concept of Ismirala Castle breathing at the region's neck is nice at first, but has only devolved to become a population boost fix for days the server is a little low on playerbase; it serves no roleplay consequence or any thing of value to the scenery, it's only purpose is an LMB fest.
Another example of events being poorly managed was the offmap bandit event a month ago, players fighting for the Bandit faction mass walked out due to it being purely scripted and admin controlled, ultimately the event served no purpose rather than a fight and many people left out without enjoyment.
A way to tackle either mismanaged or poorly led events is to bring back the EM role, and plan event chains that brings interest to the RP scene, a good example would be the Cultist Event Chain on Pax 1, which was well done and encouraged players to roleplay their own scenes based on the main event. Having an event that leaves impact on characters rather than being an LMB bannercall would ensure some kind of persistent RP rather than only logging on to fight the event head on.

The second problem is the server's staff team, which arguably in my opinion, is lazy or sluggish.
One example of it being true is the fact that there's no persistent schedule of staff meetings, literally there one time there is one is during a Dumpster fire, and it's only purpose during said staff meeting is to extinguish said dumpster fire till another one arises. There's a significant lack of communication to, as evident to the fact that Hani voided everything regarding a CK without complete staff notice.
Complaints are being completely ignored, one player I've been told has his complaint unanswered for more than a month now, and another one told me his is also being ignored for two weeks now. Like complaints, noble applications are also being ignored and neglected.
Having the Staff team fix it self rests entirely on themselves, but the minimum I can suggest is making complaints public and having regular staff meetings, like every other server before this.

The third issue currently is the general scenery, and it's the most impacting one.
This Scenario isn't too sophisticated, so it's pretty easy to get a hang of each faction, despite the lack of depth of lore. I believe most players have a problem with the scenario growing stale too quickly, there was a major war and suddenly everybody's out of steam, you see the playerbase slowly declining after the dumpster fire last week. I think a proper way to fix it is instead of relying on tensions to create your RP is to have players focused on factional development, not conflict; collapsing Ismirala in an earthquake and saving 100 worth of KB could bring the proper motivation of faction members to start working on ways to improve their settlements by building taverns, workshops or any building that makes players work and RP hard for.

Another thing that buggers me with the general scenery is that I've seen a pattern of staff members accepting new organizations in a hurry to increase population numbers, old organizations who've been created since launch started out with tier 1 gear and maybe a spot for them to RP as a headquarters. Currently now though, organizations are instantly being accepted if they've got more than one player to log on the server, and are giving tier 2 gear immediately where other organizations have struggled long.

That's all I can talk about, I hope this gets note because the scenario isn't completely flawed and it could improve, if I've missed anything or you've got an idea post and discuss below.

Vayejeg / Re: Housing & Rental Properties of Valantford
« on: February 10, 2021, 07:09:01 PM »
In all properties in Vayejeg a note would be put up, reading:
"All those who occupy houses and workshops are to report to Hardouin Valant by Saturday to pay last week's due of rent or be promptly evicted."

Accepted Noble Applications / Vayejeg Support Application
« on: February 08, 2021, 05:11:59 PM »
Steam Profile: Herodium

Character's Name: Hardouin Valant

Biography Link (if applicable): I'll make one if accepted

Character's Status & Position: Son of the Baron of Vayejeg, legitimate

Description of the Character: Hardouin is timid, skinny and usually quiet, however he's diligent and apt to micro managing and administrating funds and resources. He was adopted on the journey by his uncle after previously studying to be a scribe in his father's ancestral manor. Often being looked down upon and shunned from the family, he found his place helping his father most of the time and the two developed a close relationship.

Character's Goals: Assist his father lord rebuild Vayejeg from his ashes.

In your opinion, what can you add to the faction in terms of general well-being (Ideas for Events/Type of Noble that you wish to play/Can you bring members to the faction with your noble? I think Vayejeg needs a serious shake up and to start over, I'd initiate building projects to create more passive RP and also improve factional defenses which have been notably the weakest amongst all factions. I wish to bring old friends of mine who haven't got a chance to play yet, people that I know could create complex characters that will make the scene in Vayejeg more easing than before.

Reason for Application: Bassguri requested I be his support noble and I was on board.

Previous Characters: Jeremy Astor, Ernst Thurn, Gerron Avilikos and a lot of others.
