Denied Building Applications / var Beavau Home furnishing.
« on: March 04, 2021, 01:58:59 AM »
Character name / organisation name: Isaac var Beavau
Steam or Discord name (or add me, my links are in the topic above): TheLonelyBandit#9325

Description of building: Just some simple furnishings to the home of four players. This would primarily entail two bed, one chest, and a serving table, though it would greatly be appreciated if some simple tables and rugs could be put down.
Location of building: In Tehlrog, one of the TP houses there. It is located between the armorsmith and the arena. I can specify further if needed.

One bed here please. The spare chest could also go here. If possible, some small things like a table and rug would do a lot to improve the look.

One bed here, and you can get rid of the tankard, it doesn't make sense for it to be here anyways. If possible, I would like to RP breaking it down for wood, if you'd allow it. Again, some small things like a carpet and table would do a lot.

Lastly, if possible, we would like a serving table along this wall. In addition, any smaller items to make the home feel lived in are appreciated.

Reason for building: The home was recently rented by the var Beavau family. They are looking to make it habitable for four people, as there is only one bed and chest now. In addition, it is a very large room and there is lots of unused space, making it look bare and dungeon like.

What will the building add in terms of role-play, or general fun in-game?:
It will provide a nice RP center for the family and all their associates. In addition, the extra chest will help greatly with storage, as the current chest is holding four players items. Ultimately, this is a very low KB request, and I ask that it is earnestly considered.

As far as I know, there is a Geroian script. As for the RP, I was unaware there was a minimum requirement for learning a language. Since the char is primarily educating himself on the language, it would primarily be solo RP which is... alright, I guess. Alternatively, if granted the language script now, I'll RP speaking in very short sentences for some time. Ultimately, I yield to whatever staff decides.

Character’s Name: Isaac var Beavau
Biography Link: Private bio, will pm to the admin handling this if needed.
Ethnicity: Swadian
Character's Goals: To continue to serve as an aide for Sir Reynard and the var Fenwyrs as a whole, with more recent responsibilities as a messenger and lower lever diplomat. On a personal level, Isaac wants to continue to expand his knowledge of his languages, history, and all things academic, as well as re-establish his family in Ambean
Reason:
Isaac is an intellectual, and enjoys learning languages (He speaks High Calrad and Vaegir already). The library of Ambean is quite large, so he would likely be able to find something there to aid in his studies. Also, Isaac has known a Geroian in the scenario, Luis, so he could've picked up a bit of the language from him, though very little.

OOC NOTE: I've seen some people have their apps denied because they already speak two languages in addition to common, and thus would start to negate the point of the language mechanic. OOC'ly, I only have the Vaegir perms, as High Calrad does not have a language script. So on the OOC side, I only really have one language. Also, it couldn't really be used to meta, as no one really speaks Geroian, so it would just be fun RP for me at no cost to anyone.

Also, does this actually have a language script? If so, I would like to get it if accepted.

Archive / Re: Anyone here into Re-enactment or other roleplaying?
« on: January 28, 2021, 03:39:26 PM »
Years ago I was involved in reenactment of the US Civil War, but I've stopped since then. I've played around with the idea of a medieval kit, but the main issue is lack of interest in the US, primarily because it is not part of our history.

Ironic, a group called the Velucan Pikes don't even have pikes.

Character’s Name: Isaac var Beavau
Biography Link: Private, I’ll PM to whoever handles this.
Ethnicity: Swadian
Character's Goals: To continue to serve the var Fenwyrs, acting as an aide and steward to the family. In addition, Isaac is always seeking to further his knowledge of various intellectual topics.
Reason:
Isaac is literate and quite intelligent, spending a great amount of time reading in the vast library beneath the keep in Ambean. Here, he would find many books, and begin to learn the basics of Vaegir. This would help aide him and the var Fenwyrs in negotiations and prisoner swaps with the Vaegirs, as well as allowing Isaac to converse with any Vaegir-speakers he comes across.

Regarding the Knight Errant, is that some kind of support noble for factions? Which comes with own gear without touching the fac sets or .. ?

I mean, I ain't staff, but the way I understand it is the whole Knight Errant/Warrior char app is a way to determine who gets the high end sets in a fac.

Well, then I would like to say that I only care about the tags that show up when you look at someone at close range. I think these are necessary when RP'ing in a communal hub with lots of other RP going on nearby. Without them, it is very difficult to figure who is talking to who. The long range, permanent tags I would prefer not to have, as they clutter the screen.

Actually, I may be making an utter fool of myself. When we are referring to "nametags" are we talking about the tags that are always above a players head, or the tags when that appear when you are looking right at someone at close range?

Like Oleg said, it is generally confusing. They turned off nametags of Krenn 4 as an experiment, and no one could figure out who was talking to who. They were turned back within the day. I would definitely recommend keeping them on.
