Guide to Roleplay

Now, what does roleplaying here mean? We are a hardcore roleplaying community, with various servers over the years with the first server dating back to 2011 starting from scratch. Since then it only grew with enthusiastic players that were new just like you. The staff members were once new too and with that in mind, we%u2019ll help you get accustomed by using our experience built in the past years.

It is important however to understand the English language, so if you are now using a translator for this guide then sadly this server is not for you just yet.

The second step is to read the rules of our forum and server.

Once you have gotten a bit accustomed to the server we recommend creating a biography or character sheet! While these applications aren't necessary to play, they are very useful! These applications will allow you more freedom in game to learn languages, get better gear, apply for higher positions, etc... Your first biography/character sheet likely will be tough and a little confusing! We have example formats on how they should be written. Even still, it's likely you will have to work a bit to have your applications accepted. Don't get discouraged though! Post what you have and you will receive honest feedback from staff who will offer guidance on how to create a refined and well written bio/character sheet.

Character Creation

Creating your first character, to begin creating your character you must either post a Character sheet or Biography. Although the staff team would recommend making a biography/Character sheet, it's not necessarily needed. Having a biography/character sheet comes with certain benefits such as holding professions, the ability to write and to acquire starting equipment. A link to the biography/character templates are listed down below.

Now, you're probably wondering what's the difference between a character sheet and a biography?

Character sheet - A character sheet is if a player does not desire to write a full fleshed Biography, they have the opportunity to create a Character Sheet. Being a shorter version of a Biography, a Character Sheet comes with all the benefits of a Biography except the inability to claim literacy, claim a profession, only possess the scenario's accepted cultures, and a stripped down version of acceptable gear to mainly passive equipment.

Biography - A Biography is the descriptive past of your chosen character, as well as their skills, traits, and history. Once submitted and accepted, you gain many benefits such as the ability to create tickets, applications, claiming professions, literacy, nobility etc. Here, you make your character official by writing down who they are and their history, alongside any skills the character has acquired throughout their lifetime. Remember, until your Biography & Applications are accepted, you cannot be literate, foreign or a Noble character, once it has been, you're free to RP such.

When creating your character it's important to create a realistic name, IE: Tom_Smith or Tom, Troll names or funny names that are acceptable on other servers are not accepted or welcome here.

/inv - To access your characters inventory

Backspace - Allows players to contact admins in staff chat

*  - Used to emote to other players for example /me Smiles at him
/w - To whisper to nearby players, only people in a small vicinity can hear you.

Right-shift Enter - Is to shout, doing this means people can hear you from a further distance than usual.

Q - Opens up the local chat, used to role-play with the surrounding players.

/whistle - Calls your horse in the stable

/dismiss - Despawns your horse in the stable

/stay - The horse stops following you

/wipe - Clears your character of any possessions only done when your character is CK'ed (Killed)

// - Used when talking to other players in OOC (Out Of Character)

/roll 100 - Rolls a random number between 0-100, used during IC circumstances.

Press - to open a small menu that can do certain stances (Pike stance, Crossed arms), can be used to interact with an instrument.

One of the most important useful starting things you can do is use backspace chat (This is admin chat) to ask for starting gear and assistance.

Once you are kitted out you truly are free to do anything! Try interacting with other players in a roleplay manner and see where that takes you!
Ask around for a job with other characters, farm and sell your goods for coin, or run to the castles and towns and ask a guard if they are hiring more workers or soldiers!

Remember any questions you have can and likely will be answered on our forum. Never feel too afraid to ask a question even if you think it is a dumb one. We were all new once! If you don't feel comfortable interacting with the whole community just yet but really have a burning question you can always message a staff member using the admin chat or messaging them privately on our forums if no-one responds.

Remember to read our server rules on our forum! These will guide you on how to play a good, solid character and offer insight into what Hardcore Roleplay is all about.
Finally, our server can be big and confusing for any first timer. Stick with it though and you'll get the hang of it in no time and have a fun time all along the way!

Good luck and we hope you enjoy!
