I feel like no one uses fog anymore

Fog was used in Krenn 3  and a little bit in delorious last I remember. Not that long ago. But it would make sense to have snow around Ismirala castle and no snow everywhere else.

The castle on warband single player is snowy, so that would make sense for it to be covered in snow.

Instead of having seasons and having to constantly update the map with snow around, just have a little part of the map always lathered in snow and the rest standard and green. At least those who have an interest in snow get to enjoy it some place and the rest who don't like it don't have to go there. Although it's make more sense if it were atop a mountain top and not just a bit of land with snow on it. At least there'd be a little bit of variety.

The FPS killer is the weather system that was introduced, the rain / snow. Although this can be tweaked a little in the settings to accommodate those who cannot run it properly, it's not the actual snow textures that cause the issue.

Regarding the Knight Errant, is that some kind of support noble for factions? Which comes with own gear without touching the fac sets or .. ?

I mean, I ain't staff, but the way I understand it is the whole Knight Errant/Warrior char app is a way to determine who gets the high end sets in a fac.

You'll have enough starting gold to buy some additional clothing/tools when you first spawn.
